INTRODUCTION

The House We Live In

Disasters such as earthquakes, fires, and accidents can suddenly kill many people, leave them without a place to live, and cause them to lose their daily lives. Disasters and accidents continue to occur in our neighborhoods and around the world. What I can do is to continue to create and send out works that will help people living in the present realize the importance of everyday life. With this in mind, I draw trivial everyday life. This work, "The House We Live In," is a full-scale installation of three-dimensional works. I made the shape by measuring and observing actual furniture and daily necessities, covered it with white cloth, and outlined it with black thread.

As I walk around the city, I look at various people's houses. I created the everyday life of ordinary people behind the curtains that I always see from outside the window. The work is drawn only with black lines, and you can overlay your own daily life on it like a coloring book. On a sunny day, the laundry drying on the balcony or in the garden, the potted plants, the shadows of the curtains and cupboards seen through the window... I feel a sense of relief and peace from the similar daily lives of people I don't know. The peace of "normal. Every moment in the house we live in is important.
