MIYAKE Mai
Resurrection
Penny from heaven
INTRODUCTION
Resurrection
Easter is a spring festival in Christianity to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
The arrival of spring signifies rebirth from "winter = death," and the main table on which "Resurrection" is hung is decorated with various motifs of death and life.
By adding a small bonsai tree of fresh greenery, which is the breath of spring after the long winter, it symbolically represents the miracle celebration that occurs every year.
Penny from heaven
The god of prosperous business is a good fit for Osaka. The god is also invited to stay at KAGAIRO.
We use a rake to attract good fortune and purify it.
PROFILE
Imbued with her unique view of the delicacy and depth of traditional Japanese art and crafts, Miyake’s works question the essence of things and the universality of expression while seamlessly combining the past, present, and future. Employing a diverse range of expressive methods irrespective of the medium, Miyake transcends narrowly defined categories, such as antiques, crafts, contemporary art, design, and literature, and moves effortlessly back and forth between tradition and innovation by means of a singular interpretation and perspective on the Japanese art context.
